Bob Rees was born in Dover, Ohio on April 14, 1948. He acquired his first axe, a tenor ukulele, in junior high and his first actual guitar two years later. His first group was a folk group, the Berets. Next came Bob & Nancy (one guess where that name came from). Both groups performed a wide variety of folk music from The Kingston Trio and Peter, Paul and Mary to Ian and Sylvia. In 1963 he formed the PendleTones which performed Beach Boys, Roy Orbison and eventually Rolling Stones material. In late 1968 Bob moved to Kent, OH and became manager at a local bar/restaurant, The Barn ,while completing his BS degree. While at The Barn he played solo and gigged with bands of the area, such as The Lime. He rubbed elbows with Woody and Steve but didnt hook up with any bands. Bob lost touch with his musical roots after graduation from Kent State in 1970 and he turned to the corporate world. He started a plastic film packaging company and managed a small custom rubber molding company in Akron. He became the spokesman for these companies at trade shows and a part-time professional Magician in 1976. Since the 1980s Bob has been with Goodwill Industries International as a consultant and CEO. "I felt the need to return to some of the items in my life I truly love. Through a renewed interest in music and guitars, I reconnected with Woody and the rest of the guys."
Bob's excited about the efforts of Old School Effects to return to the sounds that flooded the airwaves when rock music became timeless. BS in Secondary Education Kent State University MBA (Eq) in Non-Profit Management GII PhD in Performing Art (magic) Fechter Institute
